We've been receiving reports that those with the now grandfathered Verizon pUDP (prepaid unlimited data) Jetpack plan who log-in to their online accounts are being greeted with a message that says:
"Great News, your line can now get more data for less every month."
If you click on this banner, a button to 'Change Plans' will populate.
In case you're curious how you can get more data than unlimited for "less"... you can't.
Thankfully, Verizon does give you a CLEAR warning that the pUDP Jetpack plan is no longer available and you can't get it back if you switch plans.
In short, this banner is just offering the current not-nearly-as-awesome (ok - they're crappy) plans.
So in this case, you are being offered 15GB of data for the same price as the no longer available pUDP Jetpack plan.
NOT a Great Deal.
In case it's not clear.. we absolutely don't recommend making this change.
Switching Jetpacks?
Do not go through Verizon to upgrade or replace a hotspot/Jetpack device if you are on the (now retired) pUDP Jetpack plan.
We have seen several reports of people losing their retired pUDP Jetpack line and having it replaced with a currently available plan.
Purchase any new equipment you want 3rd party, and swap your pUDP SIM card into the device. This is known to be working with out issues at present time.
