Review: Peplink AP One Series Access Points (Accessories)

The Peplink AP One series of access points are designed to work with Peplink routers to spread local Wi-Fi coverage over a larger area.

In a typical small business or enterprise deployment, you could have an access point in every room of an office - or on every floor of a building.

All the access points work together under control of the central router - allowing for seamless Wi-Fi roaming by connected devices as they move around.

On most RVs and smaller cruising boats, this sort of extended local Wi-Fi coverage is usually not needed.

But if you are struggling with Wi-Fi performance below decks, or at the far ends of a large fifth wheel - adding one or more AP One access points can work wonders.

And if you are using a Peplink router that lacks built-in Wi-Fi, or if you want to use your router's built in Wi-Fi radio exclusively for WiFi-as-WAN - you can also add a companion AP One to your router that is focused on hosting your indoor network.

There are many models in the AP One product line - most designed for different types of corporate installation challenges, including ceiling and in-wall mounts.

Note: Access Points like this are intended to help host your local private Wi-Fi network, not to connect via WiFi-as-WAN to a distant public campground or marina network.

We have an AP One AC Mini provided as an evaluation unit by MobileMustHave - and have used it extensively paired with our MAX Transit Duo and Balance 20X routers. It "just works" - automatically extending our indoor Wi-Fi coverage well beyond what the router alone is capable of.
