The TCL Linkport IK511 is the first 5G USB modem and the first consumer 5G RedCap ("Reduced Capability") device launched in North America.
RedCap stands for "Reduced Capability" and provides less expensive and lower-performance hardware for devices that don't need high-performance 5G. RedCap is also sometimes called "5G NR-Lite."
This device is exclusive to T-Mobile.
As a USB modem it does not have any Wi-Fi and only comes with basic firmware. It's designed to get most any device with a USB-C port online in a plug-and-play fashion.
