The latest Ubiquiti models are not compatible to extend your Wi-Fi as the original. Any Ubiquiti Product that has AirMax in the name can only connect to other Ubiquiti AirMax devices when extending a given network. AirMax devices use TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) instead of CSMA/CA to minimize collisions by assigning a time for each node to transmit its data.
Product Variations
The Ubiquiti Bullet by AirMax is a weather proof, long range, Wi-Fi radio with an integrated type N connector for attaching to antennas to create outdoor access points, clients or bridges.
The Bullet comes in multiple flavors offering support for 2.4, 5 and dual band Wi-Fi.
The product is also available in an IP67 weatherproof casing via their Titanium line (-Ti models).
