Creating Peplink Virtual LANs (VLANs)
Peplink routers allow you to create VLANs, or Virtual LANs, that allow you to define multiple networks in which to connect your devices to.
A virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) allows multiple LAN networks to co-exist over the same wires (or Wi-Fi airwaves). A common reason to do this is to set up different Outbound Policies based on the different networks.
You can also have multiple VLANs set up to isolate guests or untrusted home automation gadgets. Or to allow hard-coded devices (such as an RV control system) to share the network managed by your Peplink.
This articles goes over use cases for setting up multiple Peplink VLANs, and how to configure them.
This is a complement to our deeper dive on Peplink Outbound Policies.
