Peplink Wi-Fi as WAN
Many Peplink routers support Wi-Fi-as-WAN to use a remote Wi-Fi network as an upstream internet source. This is handy when you want to connect to another Wi-Fi access point, like at a campground, marina or coffee shop in your travels.
But using Wi-Fi-as-WAN on a Peplink comes with trade offs to consider, because it's asking a single Wi-Fi radio to serve double duty both serving your local area network (LAN) and receiving a wireless WAN connection.
In this article we go over ways to better optimize a Peplink router for using Wi-Fi as WAN by integrating in secondary routers via Synergy Mode, using external Wi-Fi Access Points, and/or external Wi-Fi CPEs.
