T-Mobile announced it will provide a complimentary subscription to the Hulu streaming service to customers on existing and new Go5G Next Plans starting on January 24.
The included Hulu service, dubbed "Hulu On Us," is the lowest service tier and includes advertisements, which normally cost $7.99/month.
The fine print states that the service is complimentary for 12 months, which must be renewed:
After 12 months, consumer action is required to continue complimentary subscription. If no action is taken, subscription auto-renews at $7.99/month or then-current regular monthly price.
Hulu On Us joins Apple TV+ On Us and Netflix On Us as streaming services already included with Go5G Next.
T-Mobile's official announcement only mentions the GO5G Next plan, but leaked documents obtained by the T-Mobile Report indicated that at least some customers on other plans may get the benefit for six months.
The Mobile Report also reported that there may be changes to Netflix On Us on January 24. According to internal documents, plans currently receiving Netflix Basic will transition to Netflix Standard with Ads. (Note: T-Mobile now confirms this.)
Netflix Basic did not come with any ads, but Netflix Standard with Ads comes with a higher streaming resolution - 1080p - instead of 720p. Also, Netflix Standard with Ads can be used on two devices (Netflix Basic could only be used on one).
While these changes don't take effect until January 24, customers will receive notifications this week.
Once T-Mobile publishes the full details, we will update this article as needed.
