Magnadyne, an RV-focused electronics company, released an LTE upgrade kit for its RV-Link roof-top connectivity solution. RV-Link, similar to WifiRanger's Converge, is designed to pair a roof-mounted all-in-one antenna system with an indoor router to provide Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity as well as over-the-air TV and radio reception.
The RV-Link product initially shipped without an LTE option, only offering Wi-Fi extending, but Magnadyne is finally making cellular LTE connectivity available today with an upgrade kit which costs $279.99.
The RV-Link is primarily intended for the OEM market and comes preinstalled on several lines of new RV's as standard equipment or as an option. The LTE kit can now be added to these existing and future units to give cellular connectivity.
The cellular modem is very basic - only a category 4, but it does support the primary cellular bands for AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. Magnadyne also partnered with AT&T's connected car division to provide cellular plans for the device.
