The popular streaming service Netflix changed its plan lineup and eliminated the lower-tier "Basic" option in the US and UK.
For the US market, Netflix now offers "Standard with Ads," "Standard," and "Premium" options.
But the Basic option isn't completely dying.
T-Mobile has long partnered with Netflix to provide Netflix service for T-Mobile customers - either the "Basic" or "Standard" plan depending on the specific T-Mobile wireless plan.
These options with T-Mobile have not changed, and the Basic plan remains an option through T-Mobile.
This means the "Basic" plan will still be available as normal for T-Mobile customers, even new customers or those who downgrade their T-Mobile service to be eligible for the Basic instead of the Standard Netflix plans.
Those who don't have Netflix through T-Mobile and currently have the Basic plan are grandfathered and can keep it as long as they maintain the subscription and don't change plans.
