Today, Peplink officially released a 5G version of its B One mobile router, the B One 5G.
The B One 5G adds an internal X62 5G cellular modem to the original B One router that was introduced in January 2024.
The original B One has become one of our Top Pick router recommendations for its combination of pro-level features and great price, and now, with the addition of an internal 5G modem, the B One 5G is an even more attractive option for most any mobile user's needs.
The B One 5G is available today for a list price of just $599.
This is an unprecedented value for Peplink hardware of this caliber.

B One 5G Features
The big news about the B One 5G is the addition of an internal cellular 5G modem to an already outstanding base hardware platform.
The B One 5G uses a Qualcomm X62-based modem module, which is a very capable "5G Phase 2" modem that has become the the mainstream 5G option used in most new 5G router models in 2024.
The B One 5G also has four cellular antenna ports and dual nano SIM slots for physical SIM cards, and it supports Peplink eSIM features.
Other than the cellular capabilities added with the internal modem, the B One 5G has the exact same features and capabilities as the standard B One:
- Upgraded Internals and Faster Throughput - The B One series has the same processing throughput as Peplink's BR Pro series: 1 Gbps max routing speed for normal throughput, 400 Mbps when using Peplink's SpeedFusion VPN when unencrypted, and 200 Mbps while encrypted.
- Extensive External WAN Options - Both B One devices can support a variety of external WAN options. They both have two dedicated Gigabit Ethernet WAN ports, Peplink's vWAN feature, which allows one or more of the LAN ports to be used as additional WAN ports, and a USB-C port that can also be a WAN interface for USB devices like Peplink's Max Adapter, a mobile hotspot, or an Android phone. The B One line also supports WiFi-as-WAN - making it extremely flexible for serving as the heart of even the most complex nomadic network.
- LAN Options - Both B One devices have four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports for wired connectivity and dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) for hosting a Wi-Fi LAN.
Externally, there are some differences between the two models:
- Antenna Locations - On the B One 5G, the cellular antennas are located on the back in the same spot as the Wi-Fi antennas on the B One. On the B One 5G cellular model, the Wi-Fi antennas are located on the front of the router to make space for the cellular antennas on the rear. This is an easy way to tell the two models apart.
- SIM Slots - The SIM slots for the B One 5G are located on the front, next to the status lights.
Here is the new 5G model and the original B One for comparison:
One annoying downside of the B One 5G is clearly visible: having antennas on opposite sides of the device effectively makes the router bigger when fitting it into a tech cabinet.
This opposite-side placement can also make routing cables for external antennas more difficult and annoying.
However, it's also understandable, as there simply isn't room on the rear of the router for six antenna ports along with the power and six Ethernet ports.
Another obvious feature missing that is present on both the BR1 Pro 5G and the Balance 20X is the GPS antenna port.
This means that the B One 5G will not be capable of taking advantage of Peplink's GPS tracking capabilities.

Concluding Thoughts
The B One 5G router is priced at $599, a new low for such a feature-packed Peplink 5G router.
The B One 5G breaks new ground by providing most of the capabilities seen in other pro-level devices from Peplink, like the BR1 Pro series, but at a much lower price.
It does, however, lack a couple of features that some nomads may want, like a ruggedized design and integrated GPS.
But for most of our audience, the B one 5G provides the most value of any router in Peplink's current lineup.
We have previously tested the non-cellular B One, and it's one of our current Top Pick router options.
We have already had some brief hands-on time with the B One 5G, and have every reason to believe that it will earn Top Pick status as well.
