Today, Peplink introduced a significant update to its entry-level MAX BR1 Mini cellular router - the Peplink MAX BR1 Mini 5G, along with a new line of portable "Slim" panel antennas.
Starting with the Mini 5G, this is Peplink's lowest-priced 5G cellular router at $499 and includes the latest-generation Qualcomm X62 5G cellular modem, making it a future-proof option.

But as an entry-level device, the Mini-5G does come with some tradeoffs like a throughput limit of 300Mbps, which the 5G modem can exceed. Additionally, unlike the LTE Mini models, this 5G version has no support for any Wi-Fi at all. But it can be an excellent option to use for Synergy mode with an existing Peplink router or as a standalone 5G adapter via Ethernet.
The new Slim series of antennas comes in two models - the 22G and 40G, both priced at $149.
These are similar in design to other popular portable panel antennas like the Netgear MIMO that can be mounted to a wall or window and taken with you, but are more enterprise-level antennas, as one would expect from Peplink.
The 22G has 2x2 MIMO cellular, 2x2 Wi-Fi, and GPS, while the 40G has 4x4 MIMO cellular and GPS.

- The MAX BR1 Mini 5G is an upgraded version of the classic Mini with a latest-generation 5G cellular modem.
- The Mini 5G is still an entry-level router and lacks some features like Wi-Fi.
