Pepwave announced that customers who use either the Max BR1 Mini or Max Transit Mini should upgrade the firmware to version 8.1.3 or higher to ensure the embedded cellular modems continue to function after the carriers shut down their 3G networks.
The 8.1.3 firmware updates a setting on the embedded cellular modem module. Without this update, the module may not be able to connect to the LTE network once the 3G network shuts down for a particular carrier.
This problem only affects the following router models:
- BR1 Mini (MAX-BR1-MINI-LTE-US)
- BR1 Mini Core (MAX-BR1-MINI-LTE-US-T-M)
- Transit Mini (TST-MINI-LTE-F-T-PRM)
