We are the Mobile Internet Resource Center, and offer free content to the public as well as member exclusive content to those who chose to join this site. Those who join our site will be referred to as 'premium members' throughout this document.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments & Forum Posts
Only our premium members can leave comments or utilize our forums on the site, and we collect the data shown in the comments form or forum post, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Your profile picture, user name, chosen display name, member status and comment is visible only to other logged in members in the context of your post. Your comments and user data remains visible to other members even after your membership expires.
E-mail Lists
We offer both a free e-mail newsletter and a premium member exclusive newsletter - both are intended to keep you up to date on content on this site.
Both lists are kept on MailChimp, who has their own privacy policy in place that you should confirm before joining one of our lists. We do not sell, trade, barter or disclose to 3rd parties any information you share to join our lists. Every newsletter sent contains an unsubscribe link to remove yourself at any time.
Media
If you upload images to the website, comments or forums you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
When a premium members logs in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

- WordPress.com JetPack: We use WordPress/JetPack Stats to collect statistical information regarding website traffic and website usage. WordPress Stats collects IP address, WordPress.com user ID (if logged in), WordPress.com username (if logged in), user agent, visiting URL, referring URL, timestamp of event, browser language, country code. Important: We do not have access to any of this information via this feature. For example, as the site owner we can see that a specific post has 285 views, but we cannot see which specific users/accounts viewed that post. Stats logs containing visitor IP addresses and WordPress.com usernames (if available), are retained by Automattic for 28 days and are used for the sole purpose of powering this feature. Affiliate Program Participation
We engage in select affiliate or referral marketing, which is done by embedding tracking links into the website. If you click on a link for an affiliate partnership, a cookie will be placed on your browser to track any sales for purposes of commissions.

Who we share your data with
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.
For our members who elect to also become members of MobileMustHave.com to our members, MobileMustHave.com has access via an API supplied by S2Member (our membership software) only to your e-mail address provided by you, first name and last name to verify your current membership status. Members of their Explore or Core memberships also become members of the Mobile Internet Resource Center, and MobileMustHave.com is given access to create and manage your member account with us - having access only to your name, e-mail address and membership status.
We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment or post in our forums, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For premium members that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile - which includes user name, first and last name, e-mail address and web address. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you.
