Back in March 2022, T-Mobile came out with a great deal for business customers - a tablet plan that included unlimited on-device data, 10GB of mobile hotspot data, and 5GB of Canada/Mexico for only $10/month. What made this option even sweeter was that could be purchased as a standalone option.
This plan quickly became one of our Top Pick data plans for its utility and value.
While the promotion is still ongoing, T-Mobile has changed some of the requirements to get this plan:
Originally the plan was only available in stores - it's now also available online or through T-Mobile's business sales.
The plan is no longer available standalone if you want to activate it on a tablet you already own. To get it as a standalone plan, you must buy a tablet from T-Mobile.
However, T-Mobile is still running a promotion for a free Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 that can be used to obtain this plan - but the catch is the tablet is "free" via two years of bill credits and a corresponding service commitment. But if you want to keep this plan long-term, then this isn't a major downside.
And we presume that SIM-swapping is permissible - we don't see any language in the terms of service prohibiting it, and we've put the SIM in other tablets with no issues. However, we have seen T-Mobile change SIM swapping policies before. But, at least for now, it's possible to still get this plan on an existing tablet by taking advantage of the free tablet offer and then swapping the SIM.
To get the offer online with the free Samsung tablet, head to this Samsung Tablet link on T-Mobile's business site and select the financing option. Once you get to the plan selection screen, the "Magenta Business Tablet Promo 10GB" for $10/month should be an available option. If it isn't listed as an option, then you'll need to go to a store for assistance or call T-Mobile business sales.
