Key Points:
- T-Mobile announced two new smartphone plans for postpaid and business - Experience Beyond and Experience More.
- The new "Experience" plans include satellite coverage provided by Starlink and a five-year price guarantee, but taxes and fees are no longer included in the price.
- The Experience Beyond plan includes 250 GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data and 30GB of high-speed data in Canada and Mexico.
- Existing Go5G Next customers will get the same hotspot and international data increases as Experience Beyond.
T-Mobile announced two new "Experience" plans to its postpaid and business smartphone plan lineup. These changes follow Verizon's major shakeup last week, and it seems clear that today's announcement from T-Mobile is, at least in part, a response to Verizon's move.
The two new plans—"Experience More" and "Experience Beyond"—are modeled on the Go5G Plus and Go5G Next plans, respectively, but with additional features and a significant downgrade. These new plans will be available for postpaid and small business customers starting April 23, 2025. The new plans will also flow to T-Mobile's discounted plans, such as 55+, military, etc.
Like the Verizon changes last week, T-Mobile will add benefits to the existing Go5G Next plan to make it roughly equivalent to the Experience Beyond plan for no increase in price.
T-Mobile's entry-level Essentials plan remains unchanged.

Experience Plans
The two new plans announced are the "Experience More" and "Experience Beyond" plans.
The Beyond plan is T-Mobile's premium option. On paper, both plans provide more features and data for the same or lower price as the Go5G Plus and Next plans.
However, the major caveat is that taxes and fees are extra on the new plans and are no longer included.
This means that the plan cost is likely to be higher, depending on which option you choose and the location of your billing address.
Here are the plan details from T-Mobile's announcement (click for a larger image):

Experience Plan Details
The Experience More and Beyond plans are essentially upgraded versions of the existing Go5G Plus and Next plans.
Here's what the new plans include and how they've changed from the previous plans:
Taxes And Fees No Longer Included
The base cost for Experience Beyond is the same for 1-3 lines and $10 less expensive for 4+ lines compared to Go5G Next
For Experience More, the cost is $5 less per line than Go5G Plus.
The big caveat is that taxes and fees are now extra and no longer included.
This is a huge shift for T-Mobile, which has included taxes and fees in the pricing of most plans for most of the last decade. It's another rollback of T-Mobile's original "uncarrier" policies, which sought to distinguish it from its bigger competitors through more transparent and consumer-friendly policies and pricing.
Here's the new per-line pricing for 1-4 lines. Note that this includes autopay discount and T-Mobile's longstanding policy of providing the third line for free via monthly bill credits, but does NOT include additional taxes and fees:
- Experience More: $85/$140/$140/$170
- Experience Beyond: $100/$170/$170/$215
Expect taxes and fees to add at least several dollars per line - the amount can vary considerably depending on the customer's billing address. T-Mobile does not have an online calculator to estimate taxes and fees, so estimating these fees is currently not possible.
Data Terms
Both new plans retain the same terms for on-device data usage, which is unlimited premium data.
High-speed mobile hotspot data has increased:
- Experience More: 60 GB (up from 50 GB on Go5G Plus)
- Experience Beyond: 250 GB (up from 50 GB on G05G Next)
Once the high-speed data allotment is used, mobile hotspot is unlimited at 3G speeds (600 kbps) as before.
While not confirmed at press time, the previous options to add another 50 GB of hotspot for $10/month or 100 GB for $35/month will likely remain available. This would give the Experience Beyond plan the potential for 350 GB of high-speed hotspot data before throttling on consumer postpaid, but at a high price of $135 before taxes and fees.
International Changes
Another upgrade is with international data and terms for the Experience Beyond plan:
- Canada/Mexico High-Speed Data: 30 GB (up from 15 GB)
- Other countries: 15 GB (up from 5 GB)
The international terms for the Experience More plan remain the same as those for the previous Go5G Plus plan (15 GB Canada/Mexico and 5 GB international). Once the international high-speed allotment is used up, data is still throttled to 256 kbps for both plans.
Satellite Connectivity Included
Satellite connectivity via T-Mobile's agreement with Starlink, called T-Satellite with Starlink, is included with the new Experience plans. T-Satellite is in beta and is expected to formally launch in July 2025. Customers on these plans will have free access during the beta period and then the following terms:
- Experience More: T-Satellite is included for the rest of 2025. After that, it will be an optional add-on, previously announced as $15/month.
- Experience Beyond: T-Satellite is included as a core part of the plan for no extra charge (it is also included for free on Go5G Next).
Business Plans
The business versions of Go5G are also being upgraded, including business versions of the new Experience plans. However, the announcement did not have specific details of the business plans and changes. However, T-Mobile stated in the press release that Experience Beyond would have 300GB of mobile hotspot data. We will update the story with that information once we have further details, including pricing.
5 Year Price Guarantee
T-Mobile will also offer a five-year price guarantee with the Experience Plans. This guarantee applies to the base cost of the plan, which includes talk, text, and smartphone data. The guarantee does not include any extra features, taxes, or fees. Included plan perks like Netflix, Apple TV+, and other third-party features are also not part of the price guarantee.
T-Mobile is also extending the price guarantee to Metro plans, landline, and cellular home internet customers. However, it's unclear whether this includes the RV-focused Away plan.
Go5G Next Plan Upgrade
T-Mobile states that the Go5G Next plan will soon (reportedly within the next couple of billing cycles) get a free upgrade to match some of the benefits of Experience Beyond with no increase in price:
- Mobile hotspot data - increased to 250 GB
- Canada/Mexico data - increased to 30 GB
- International data - increased to 15 GB
Go5G Next will NOT get these features and terms that Experience Beyond will have:
- Taxes and fees as an extra cost
- 5-year price guarantee for the base plan cost
Go5G Plan Lineup Likely Retiring
While not confirmed at press time, we expect the Go5G plan lineup will be retired for new customer signups once the new Experience plans are live tomorrow. This likely includes the base Go5G plan that included 100 GB of premium data and only 15 GB of mobile hotspot, which was never a very attractive plan.
Comparison to Other Top Pick Plans
The new Experience Beyond plan is our new Top Pick plan for T-Mobile. But how does it compare to the Top Pick consumer plans from the other carriers?
Verizon made a big change last week to their premium smartphone plan, and these changes from T-Mobile certainly make their new plans comparable to Verizon's offering. AT&T's consumer options are considerably less competitive, with only 60 GB of mobile hotspot data on their top-tier Premium PL plan.
Here's how the premium plans from the three carriers compare:
If you're an AT&T customer and you want more hotspot data on your smartphone, you may feel compelled to consider switching to Verizon or T-Mobile. But you may also want to wait to see if AT&T makes changes of its own to match T-Mobile and Verizon, and we expect they will eventually do so.
The choice between Verizon and T-Mobile depends on which network you prefer and the details of specific features or add-ons you may want. Both include very generous allotments of hotspot data and robust international data. The pricing and value depend heavily on the number of lines and other factors.
The Verizon plan is likely a better option for those who maximize hotspot data on a smartphone. Verizon's Unlimited Ultimate plan can get 300 GB of high-speed hotspot data for the same $100 base plan price as T-Mobile's Experience Beyond with 250 GB. Crucially, once that data is used up, Verizon offers unlimited hotspot at 6 Mbps, which is far more usable than the 600 Kbps for T-Mobile's hotspot throttle.

Concluding Thoughts
T-Mobile's new Experience plan lineup, along with the free upgrades to the Go5G Next plan (including current customers), is a pretty big response that T-Mobile hopes will keep its edge over Verizon and AT&T. We are certainly happy to see the carriers competing more and offering more features, especially data. Considering that all three carriers have instituted price increases over the last few years, it's a nice change.
But T-Mobile ditching the inclusive taxes and fees pricing model is a huge step backward and substantially diminishes the value of these new plans, especially for areas with higher costs. The fact that they downplayed that aspect in their press release is also not an "uncarrier" move.
It seems inevitable that AT&T will have to respond with changes to its own plan lineup and we look forward to seeing what changes they will make.
We also hope that the carriers will start improving their data-only plan options, which haven't changed in some time. As network capacity and speeds grow for all the major carriers, better data-only plans with higher caps are badly needed. We hope that Dish/Boost, the fourth major network, will also bring back a data-only option.
