Xfinity is a regional cable company that offers cellular plans to its customers under the name Xfinity Mobile. Their plans run on the Verizon network, and you must be a Xfinity home internet customer in order to be eligible to sign up for their mobile plans.
This week, they made some changes to their mobile plan lineup. Xfinity Mobile now offers four plans - two "unlimited" phone plans, a tablet "unlimited" plan, and a By the Gig phone plan:
- Unlimited Plus - 50GB of high speed data, and 15GB of mobile hotspot data for $50/month
- Unlimited - 30 GB of high speed data, and unlimited hotspot data capped at 3G speeds for $40/month
- Tablet Unlimited - 15 GB of high speed data for $20/month
- By the Gig - 1GB for $20/month. Additional GBs can be added for $20/1GB
The previous plan line up included an Unlimited Premium Plan, which had 50GB of high speed data and 15GB of hotspot data, which is the same as the current Unlimited Plus plan. But it was $65/month.
The previous plan line up also included an Unlimited Plus plan, which had 30GB of high speed data, which is what the current Unlimited plan has. But the previous version had 5GB of high speed hot spot data, whereas the the current plan has unlimited hotspot data - but reduced to 3G speeds.
The Unlimited Intro plan from the previous lineup is now gone.
And the By the Gig plan is now significantly more expensive - the previous version of this plan included three options: $15/1 GB, $30/3 GB, or $60/10 GB. Now the only option is $20/1 GB.
The new plans are effective as of May 1, 2024. Customers who were on the previous plans prior to that date are grandfathered on those plans.
